Sculptor Dale Rogers donated this first piece when Art on the Square launched the Sculpture in the City program.
|
In April 2007, a new program partnership with the City of Belleville's Parks and Recreation and Art on the Square was formed. Sculpture in the City was developed to help differentiate Belleville from other communities in the surrounding area. The Sculpture medium was chosen because it makes an immediate visual impact on the landscape of a community. In its first year, 12 pieces of sculpture were purchased at Art on the Square and donated to the City of Belleville. The 12 pieces are in the process of being installed and added to the previous collection in the city parks. The City of Belleville currently has 27 sculpture pieces, not including pieces installed at Southwestern Illinois College and individual corporations.

Sculptress Marina Lee adds the finishing touches to the wall relief that she organized with the students of Signal Hill and Blessed Sacrament schools. |
If you or your corporation is interested in becoming a donor partner in our Sculpture in the City program, please contact Art on the Square Director, Patty Gregory, through the email listed on the website. . . pgregory3@charter.net
